Our photo gallery pages contain historical images of Statesboro, the Statesboro Regional Library, Bulloch County, as well as photographs of current events and programs held at libraries in our system. You can navigate through the images by using the drop down menu which appears at the top of each gallery. In the Events page you will find images of recent programs held in our libraries. These programs include both adult and children's programs such as: author visits, craft fairs, story times, RIF Districbution, etc...
The Bulloch Vertical File is a collection of files containing newspaper clippings, pamphlets, articles, photographs and other material pertaining to Bulloch County, Georgia. Some of the newspaper clippings date back to the early 20th century. The Vertical File includes files on local landmarks, buildings, businesses, people, schools, railroads, and other subjects of local interest. The following pages contain photos taken from the Vertical File. When possible short descriptions are provided; however, information about many photographs is lacking. We appreciate any help the public can provide in identifying people, places and features in these photographs. Material from the Bulloch Vertical File may not be checked out, but you are allowed to make photocopies or save these images to your computer. If you wish to view these materials in person please ask staff for assistance.
The History of Old Houses in Statesboro 1890-1920 was a slideshow presentation presented to the Statesboro Regional Library by the Merry Weeders Garden Club in 1978. The project committee members were Dorothy Brannen, Elizabeth Sorrier, Mrs. Ronald Neil, Mrs. Frank Simmons, and Mrs. Robert Benson. Two other programs presented to the library were From the Ogeechee the Canoochee: 19th Century Part II, and The Small Twons and the Railroads Part III. Material for the presentation came from The Statesboro Eagle, The Bulloch Times, The Buloch Herald, The Statesboro News, Leodel Coleman's Statesboro - A Century of Progress, and the Bulloch County Historical Files. This slideshow consists of an index to 80 images of old historic houses, and a narrative history of Statesboro and Bulloch County.
