ATLANTA — Georgia Public Library Service will upgrade its PINES catalog, used at more than 275 participating libraries around the state, this coming weekend.
PINES — short for Public Information Network for Electronic Services — offers Georgia citizens a shared catalog of almost 10 million items, with a single library card that is welcomed in all member libraries. Common Threads has participated in the Special Olympics USA Scarf Project for two years now. The Project is supported by the Red Heart Yarn company. Each year 2 official colors are chosen from the Red Heart Yarn collection to represent the Games. Crafters are invited to create scarves for the athletes to wear throughout the Special Olympics events. The scarves create a sense of unity and express the communities’ support of these athletes and this program.
