ATLANTA — Georgia Public Library Service will upgrade its PINES catalog, used at more than 275 participating libraries around the state, this coming weekend.
PINES — short for Public Information Network for Electronic Services — offers Georgia citizens a shared catalog of almost 10 million items, with a single library card that is welcomed in all member libraries. Once again, Georgia’s public libraries are making it easier than ever for patrons to explore and learn about the state’s outdoor attractions. Building on Georgia Public Library Services relationship with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the popular State Park ParkPass program, public libraries across the state will begin loaning family passes for the Go Fish Education Center in Perry this month. The Yale Heart Study is concerned with how people get medical care when they are having symptoms of a heart attack. We are asking people who have had a heart attack to share their experiences at their our website: http://heartstudy.yale.edu The goal of this study is to help people get care as quickly as possible when they are having heart attack symptoms.

Common Threads has participated in the Special Olympics USA Scarf Project for two years now. The Project is supported by the Red Heart Yarn company. Each year 2 official colors are chosen from the Red Heart Yarn collection to represent the Games. Crafters are invited to create scarves for the athletes to wear throughout the Special Olympics events. The scarves create a sense of unity and express the communities’ support of these athletes and this program.

These titles can be read on any Amazon Kindle device, Kindle app, or Kindle Cloud Reader and offer all of the same features available with the Kindle reading experience. Most books in the library’s Georgia Download Destination collection are now Kindle compatible. To access and download, a patron must have both a library card and an Amazon account.
