Genealogy Fair 2024

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, the Genealogy Resource Fair will be held at the Georgia Southern Continuing & Professional Education Building (10449 US-301)  in Statesboro, GA. Parking at the CPE building is free of charge.CPE Center photo 2 - CopyCPE parking lot SM - Copy

This is a free, all-day event and will showcase genealogical, historical, and educational resources available in Georgia. There will be an expo hall for vendors and exhibitors; presentations will be given throughout the day by different repositories and genealogical organizations, and door prizes will be given at the end of the day!

Registration starts at 9:00 AM and all participants will receive a bag with a directory, tickets for door prizes, and a schedule. Library Cards

Statesboro Regional Public Libraries participates in PINES, a statewide circulation system. Your library card, which must be presented each time you borrow materials, may be used at 300 Georgia libraries. All cards are FREE, and are available to all residents of Georgia. Patrons of non-participating Georgia public libraries may receive a card from any PINES library. Persons who attend school, own property or are employed in Georgia are also eligible for a free card. Current I.D. must be shown at the time of registration. Property owners who do not reside in the state may be required to show proof of ownership. Proof of school enrollment or employment within the state may also be required.

Out-of-state cards are available to persons living outside Georgia who do not meet the above criteria for a $25 annual fee.

There is no minimum age for a child to receive a PINES card.

A parent or legal guardian may register a child. Parent or legal guardian must show proper ID to register a child. A parent or legal guardian must sign the application for all children under 18. Signing a child’s PINES card application denotes acceptance of responsibility for all fines, lost or damaged materials.
