Windy Ward, Head of Children’s Services at Franklin Memorial Library, instructed children 5 to 9 in a Christmas craft workshop December 20, 2012. Mugs were handed out to all children who attended, along with a Christmas coloring sheet that was included with the mugs. The children enjoyed coloring the Christmas sheets which were used to decorate the mugs.
The Bridging Cultures Bookshelf: Muslim Journeys is a collection of books, films, and other resources that will introduce the American public to the complex history and culture of Muslims in the United States and around the world. Franklin Memorial Library had a balloon popping good time on June 26th, with Scott Routsong the balloonist. The children enjoyed watching Scott make things out of balloons. Scott made all the children a sword after the program.
Franklin Memorial Library hosted their annual Pumpkin Painting Workshop Saturday, October 27. Children ages 6-12 gathered in the Smith Room, along with their moms, and enjoyed painting scary and funny faces on pumpkins provided by Friends of the Library. The children were allowed to take their creations home after the event.
Children ages 4-9 are cordially invited to a Fancy Nancy party on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM in the Community Room of the Statesboro Regional Library. The event is free but space is limited so please drop by the Children’s Desk or call 764-1344 to register your child. Children will enjoy theme-related activities based on the popular children’s character, Fancy Nancy.
