Summer Reading Program continues…

June 11 – 16 is the second full week of the library’s Summer Reading Program with exciting programs scheduled almost every day! The Teen Kickoff Party will be held Tuesday evening, June 12, from 6 – 7:30 PM featuring good music, food and fun as well as some fabulous craft activities designed especially for this age group. Wednesday morning our library puppeteers will present a puppet show entitled “The Best Fish Catcher on the Ogeechee River” during Preschool Story Time at 10:30 AM. Chad Crews visited Franklin Memorial Library

Chad Crews in the building–holla!!!  On May 29th, Franklin Memorial Library was wooed by the great magician Chad Crews. We have seen many magic tricks done by Chad, however, he did some new things for us this year and it was phenomenal. The teens had a blast and wanted to see more. The most exciting part of Chad’s performance was when he brought out his pet snake “Cornbread”. We really enjoyed Chad and can’t wait for him to return.

Chad Crews “Dreams Big”

Magical Educator Chad Crews will be performing his program “I Dream of Reading Extravaganza!” at the Statesboro Regional Library on Thursday, June 7 at 10:30 AM. The “I Dream of Reading Extravaganza!” is part of the Summer Reading Program, which takes place in public libraries all over the U.S. during the summer months. Chad’s program contains a combination of magic, storytelling, music, and live animals. It showcases several books used in developing the different routines used in the show. Family History Online

Summer Reading 2012

Summer reading is not just for kids! Readers of all ages will be reading and dreaming this summer as the Statesboro Regional Public Libraries continue our summer reading programs.   Activities are planned for the entire family – preschool through adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, special reading activities and more.  Children will make personal, meaningful connections with books when they are provided with opportunities to read, touch, create, and experiment at the library during school break.  The concept of night and all its wonders has inspired this year’s  theme, …
