Our Services > Computers

Each of our six libraries provides public access computers with a variety of software from educational cd-roms to research tools and the Internet. The computers are intended to be self service and user manuals and handbooks will be provided. Library staff can answer quick computer questions and help with operational errors. We are unable to offer one-on-one computer tutorials, or typing services. Free computer classes are offered at the Statesboro Regional Library, please check our calendar for dates and times.

Smart Filter, a state provided filtering software has been installed on all Internet computers. This software blocks access to chat and instant message boards, as well as sites it deems objectionable.

In addition to the public computers, several libraries in our system received a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to provide computers installed with education and multimedia reference titles, basic office applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and a connection to the Internet.
