The Statesboro-Bulloch County Library offers a wide range of fun and educational programs for youth, ages 0-18. All library programs are free! Please refer to this month’s Youth and Family Services calendar on our library’s Program Calendar for updated program dates and times.
- · Babytime is designed for ages 0-2. The program uses stories, rhymes, songs and music to provide quality interaction time for babies and caregivers, and to build early literacy skills. Join us on Facebook Wednesdays at 10:00am.
· Toddler Time is designed for ages 2-5. Young ones and their caregivers can join us Wednesdays at 10:30am on Facebook for a 30-minute session full of stories, songs, movement, and early literacy activities.
· Spanish Storytime is designed for Spanish-language speakers, as well as those who want their children to experience other languages. Join us on Facebook the first Thursday of the month at 3:30pm for a quick story. This is typically for the preschool and early elementary age.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Statesboro-Bulloch County Library’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a fun, exciting, and free way to start your child on the path to success! Any child ages birth to five years can participate as long as they have not started Kindergarten. You can register on the Beanstack app here. You can also register here. The library offers an ever-changing list of programs for ages 6-12, including STEM Take-Out, Toddler Time Care Package Pick-Up, Bingo, Kids Craft Take-Out, along with Family crafts and activities. Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Teens in the Teen Advisory Group form our core group of young volunteers. They meet monthly via Zoom to advise the library on which materials and programs are of interest to them. TAG is open to students between the ages of 12-18. To sign up, just fill out TAG Signup Form online.
Teen Book Club
Teens between the ages of 12-18 can get together twice each month to talk about the chosen book that they read each month. Each participant receives a copy of the book to keep. They meet on Zoom the second Monday at 4:30. Please call the library at 912-764-1344 and ask for Tabi for more information.
Tutoring with Restoring the Breach
Free Math and English Language Arts tutoring is provided during the school year through the local non-profit organization, Restoring the Breach. Tutors are available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 5:30-7:00pm. Visit www.restoringthebreach.org or email RestoringTheBreach@gmail.com to register.
Request a book bundle and we will select a variety of books for you to read, check them out to your library card and then let you know when they are ready to pick up. This is a great way to learn about something new, and read something you’ve never read before. Be sure to give us a few suggestions on what you or your child’s interests are.
